What is the NHS-University Research Day?

Kirsten Crawford, New Media & Communications Officer

Friday, March 10, 2017

We are a member of the Joint NHS-University Board. It’s been agreed to have Research  afternoon/evening focussing mainly on community pharmacy at the University of Strathclyde.

The event will take place on the 14th September between 4pm and 8pm and will be run as a drop in.

The main objective of the event is to allow community pharmacy practitioners to showcase their work through poster presentations for both primary and secondary care services.

How to take part

We have set a target of getting a minimum of 30 research posters produced on any topic related to community pharmacy for the day. If you choose to take part, your poster will be displayed to give evidence of the great work that community pharmacy does.

Do I have to attend on the day?

Although you do not have to be there on the day to answer questions about the poster, this is a great opportunity to get the community engaged and show that pharmacies do more than a dispensing service.

Topic suggestions

Some topic suggestions include:

  • safety survey
  • CPS care bundles
  • robotics
  • patient safety
  • quality improvement
  • service development & Innovation
  • travel clinics
  • minor injuries & illness clinics
  • independent prescribing
  • portfolio working
  • substance misuse
  • health protection
  • smoking cessation
  • pharmacy first
  • CPUS forms

Creating your poster

To make it as easy as possible to get involved the University of Strathclyde have created a template which you can use for your poster and they will also help to organise the printing of them for the day.

If you know colleagues that might be interested in taking part, we’d be grateful if you could please pass this information on to them.

We look forward to seeing your posters!
