MSP Pharmacy Visit: Bonnyrigg Pharmacy
Published: 19/04/24
Today we met with MSP Colin Beattie at Bonnyrigg Pharmacy, which is in his constituency of Midlothian North and Musselburgh.
We discussed the pressures which community pharmacy businesses are facing including rising medicine costs and the demand on complimentary services such as free prescription deliveries to patients. We also highlighted the importance of having a sustainable funding model to allow these services to continue to support communities, whilst also allowing community pharmacies to invest in the future of service delivery.
Community Pharmacy Scotland (CPS) would like to thank Samantha Sharp and CPS’s Lothian Council member Robert Wooton and their amazing team at Bonnyrigg Pharmacy for their hospitality, as well as Colin Beattie for his continued support for community pharmacy and the amazing work they do for their communities.
These opportunities are a great way to demonstrate the value of community pharmacy to those in positions of influence. If you or your team would like to be part of advocating for community pharmacy there are ways you can get involved:
