PCA(P)(2019)22 - Drug Tariff Part 7 and 11 Discount Clawback Rate

Introduction
This circular advises community pharmacy contractors and NHS Boards on the amendments to the Drug Tariff Part 7 generic clawback scale and Part 11 clawback scales.
Background
NHS circular PCA(P)(2019) 13 advised that the Drug Tariff in respect of the Part 7 (generic) discount clawback rate would be set at 6% and NHS circular PCA(P)(2019) 16 advised that the Part 11 discount clawback rate from 1 August 2019 would be reset to 4.92%.
Detail
Drug Tariff Part 7
The Part 7 (generic) discount clawback rate to the Drug Tariff shall be reset to 5.30% effective 1 October 2019. As such the target clawback has been adjusted accordingly.
Drug Tariff Part 11
The Part 11 discount clawback rate to the Drug Tariff shall be reset to 4.51% effective 1 November 2019. As such the target clawback has been adjusted. See the attached Annex for further detail on the clawback scale.
Pending any further notice, the Part 7 and Part 11 clawback rate shall be reviewed in accordance with the agreed context of the funding arrangements upon receipt of the next Quarterly Discount Survey.
