Policy & Development Session with Strathclyde Pharmacy Students

Published: 03/12/24

Our CEO Matt Barclay recently delivered an engaging session on policy development to first-year undergraduate pharmacy students at the University of Strathclyde.

The focus of the session was the Pharmacy First Scotland service (including Pharmacy First Plus) and its ongoing development within Scotland's healthcare system.

Reflecting on the experience, Matt showed his enthusiasm for engaging with the profession's future leaders on LinkedIn. "It’s always a pleasure to interact with the next generation of pharmacists." he said. "the session demonstrated the critical role pharmacy students will play in shaping the evolving landscape of community pharmacy in Scotland."

By introducing these students to policy development, our aim is to encourage their active participation in advancing the profession and improving patient outcomes.

Community Pharmacy Scotland remains committed to growing relationships with the two universities and supporting pharmacy education, ensuring the profession continues to thrive and adapt in an ever-changing healthcare environment.
