The Right to Healthcare
Our colleagues at Public Health Scotland (PHS) have developed an important resource that reaffirms the right to healthcare for individuals subject to the ‘No Recourse to Public Funds’ (NRPF) condition. This condition restricts access to many public funds, such as Universal Credit and Child Benefit, for people on work, family, and study visas in the United Kingdom.

Respiratory Section of the Approved List Section 2.2
There has been an update to the respiratory section of the NHS Pharmacy First (Scotland) Service Approved List of Products. This means that there are no longer any products listed under cough. It was agreed to remove Simple linctus sugar free, all pack sizes.

Adjusted Prices Review and Part 7 Additions & Deletions August 2024
As a part of our work with the Scottish Government and Public Health Scotland, we regularly raise lines of concern and work to secure adjusted prices for these. We also work with them regularly to review lines which have now stabilised and remove these as appropriate.
Consultation on Assisted Dying for Terminally Ill Adults
The Scottish Parliament are looking for views on the Assisted Dying for Terminally Ill Adults (Scotland) Bill. This bill would introduce a lawful form of assisted dying for people aged 16 or over with a terminal illness.

In Scotland, free COVID-19 tests are strictly available to vulnerable patients who are at the highest risk of becoming seriously ill from coronavirus. Pharmacy teams can inform patients of this guidance to help manage expectations. COVID-19 tests are available to those who are eligible and can be ordered online via NHS Inform.
