PCA(P)(2021)21 - Pharmaceutical Services Amendments to Drug Tariff Part 11 Clawback Scale

This circular advises community pharmacy contractors and NHS Boards on the amendments to the Drug Tariff Part 11 clawback scale.

Background

Circular PCA (P)(2020) 10 advised that the Drug Tariff in respect of the Part 11 discount clawback scale would be reset to 3.87% effective from 1 May 2020. Drug Tariff Part 11

The Part 11 discount clawback rate to the Drug Tariff shall be reset to 5.03% effective 1 January 2022. As such the target clawback has been adjusted accordingly. See the attached Annex for further detail on the scale.

Pending any further notice, the Part 11 target clawback rate shall be reviewed in accordance with the agreed context of the funding arrangements upon receipt of the next set of survey results.

Consultation

Community Pharmacy Scotland has been consulted on the Drug Tariff amendments and the contents of this circular.

Action

NHS Boards are asked to:

  • note the update to circular PCP (P) (2020) 10, and

  • copy to all community pharmacy contractors on their pharmaceutical list, Health and Social Care Partnerships and the Area Pharmaceutical Board.
