Our Aim

At Community Pharmacy Scotland (CPS) we aim to continually develop and secure a contractual framework for the provision of pharmaceutical services, supported by a sustainable funding model which encourages investment in the network.

We do this by negotiating with the Scottish Government on behalf of our members on all terms of service, remuneration, and reimbursement under the NHS.

An important part of our work is looking to the challenges and opportunities of the future to ensure that our network of community pharmacies is able to respond to rapidly changing demands and working environments. You can read more about the plans for the community pharmacy of tomorrow in our Strategy section.

The team at Queen Street also aims to support members and teams in almost every aspect of their working lives:

  • We provide information and advice services to the teams in our 1,250 member pharmacies in respect of any matter concerning the provision of pharmacy services.

  • We engage with members of the Scottish Parliament, Health Boards and other relevant bodies both in Scotland and throughout the United Kingdom in promoting, representing and safeguarding the interests of Scottish Pharmacy.

  • We respond to consultations relevant to the profession on behalf of our members

  • We utilise service data to research and evaluate pharmacy services

  • We are also keen to continue to build the profile of community pharmacy in the minds of the people of Scotland through our advocacy work.

Our members fund the organisation via voluntary contributions to provide the resource necessary to achieve our aims.
