Isolation Guidance for Healthcare Teams

Published: 31/08/21

We have been made aware that the guidance on self-isolation exemption for healthcare teams has now been updated and issued.

We would draw contractors’ and teams’ attention to the conditions for the exemption from self-isolation following identification as a close contact.

There criteria must all be met to allow a team member to return to work. There has been some recent confusion over whether ongoing contact with a person who has tested positive (e.g. a household family member) is permitted – this guidance confirms that this is the case.
