Our colleagues at NHS24 are currently running the “It’s OK to Ask” campaign supported by NHS Scotland. The campaign aims to empower patients to take an active role in their healthcare journey. Providing guidance on how to ask questions during any consultations or conversations about their health and care, the campaign aims to make patients more involved and informed on the treatment options available to them.

We would appreciate your support in sharing the campaign key messages and resources to relevant audiences. Social media toolkit containing guidance and social media assets are available to download at the bottom of this page here.

Consultation Outcome: The Use Of PGDs by Pharmacy Technicians

We are delighted to hear the recent joint consultation led by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) and the Department of Health Northern Ireland (DHNI), has been approved. This will enable pharmacy technicians to supply and administer medicines using Patient Group Directions (PGDs) once the Human Medicines Regulations 2012 have been amended.
