MSP Pharmacy Visit: Garthdee Pharmacy

Published: 10/04/24

Yesterday Audrey Nicoll MSP, our Head of Policy and Development, Amanda Rae, and our Policy & PR Pharmacist, Sarah Scott visited the team at Garthee Pharmacy in Aberdeen.

They spent the morning in Garthdee Pharmacy with the team and our Grampian Council Member/ Owner John Fowlie, discussing NHS Pharmacy First Scotland and NHS Pharmacy First Plus. They also discussed the opportunities for a shared patient data record, and how to inspire young people into a career in community pharmacy.

Community Pharmacy Scotland (CPS) would like to thank John and his amazing team for their hospitality, as well as Audrey for her continued support for community pharmacy and the amazing work they do for their communities.

These opportunities are a great way to demonstrate the value of community pharmacy to those in positions of influence. If you or your team would like to be part of advocating for community pharmacy there are ways you can get involved:

  • Let us know if you would be open to hosting an MSP Visit at one of your pharmacies by clicking here

  • Tell us a good news story, i.e. how you or one of your team members helped a patient or your community. We can use these stories to help demonstrate community pharmacy’s value amongst our stakeholders. Click here to tell us the good news
