Additions to Part 7 & Approved List Reimbursement

Published: 01/10/21

With the Revised List of Approved List Products (PCA(P)(2021)14) Circular, from 1st October 2021, there have been a number of items added and removed from the Approved List  and these will now be included in Part 7B, with set prices for reimbursement.

There are a number of reasons for the changes, from lack of availability of some products, or addition to allow a greater range of treatment options. For a full list of all additions and deletions, along with the rationale for the changes, please see Annex A of the Approved List.

To allow for a period of adjustment, any deleted items that are still available, will be passed for payment up until the 30th November 2021, after which they will be disallowed. Any new items will be valid to prescribe from 1st October.

As with any other Part 7 lines, if you are unable to source the medicine, or are unable to source it at the Drug Tariff price, please let us know by completing our Shortage Reporter.

If you have any further questions, please contact us at pharmacy.services@cps.scot or on 0131 466 3540.
