Introduction of Orient Gene 7s LFD Kits

National Services Scotland (NSS) is introducing new Orient Gene 7s LFD kits for primary care workforce testing. These new kits will begin to be distributed week commencing Monday 16th August, when guidance and training materials will also be published here. Please note that existing Innova 25s stock continue to be valid for use and should be used up first.

Benefits of the new Orient Gene product include that testing is double nasal, rather than via nose and throat swabbing, and that test results are available after 15 minutes rather than 30 minutes.

Please note that:

• Results should continue to be recorded on the NSS portal (please do not use the bulk upload function for time being) and registration is recommended.

• Please continue to enter your LOT number on the NSS portal (7 numbers located on the box, not the ID number on the device).

If you have not received your order by COP on the 5th September 2021, then please contact the National Contact Centre on 0800 008 6587 to request delivery.

Please note this communication relates to LFD tests for workforce testing, it does not relate to LFD tests available to the public via the LFD Pharmacy Collect Service.
